VALLEY VIEW
Mountain Transitional - Elkhorn Preserve - Fraser, Colorado

This 10,400 sq. ft. home was built for large family gatherings. The lot sits perched above the Devil’s Thumb Valley and commands spectacular views in all directions. The client wanted a transitional mountain design on the exterior with a more modern interior. The solution was to break down the scale of this house by using three wings. Between the wings are located staircases that act as bridges between the wings. The middle wing faces southeast and houses a large array of solar collectors.
The main level contains the entry, great room, 2 powder rooms, a pantry, a laundry room, an office and the main bedroom suite. A half level below the main level is located a large 3-car garage and a mudroom. Located above the garage, a half level up from the main level, are the two children’s bedrooms and a playroom.
The lower level contains a large family room with a seating area, a full bar, and areas for games. There are also two additional bedroom suites, a bunkroom that sleeps 10, a wine cellar, a laundry room, and a gym on this level. This level opens up to the many outdoor patios and outdoor areas.
The exterior is clad in wood siding, stone, and metal panels. There are large windows on all sides of the house to capture the spectacular views and to let in a lot of natural light all day long. This house provides the homeowners a perfect family home and a place to entertain their extended family.
